Spread over five weekends from September 2024 to June 2025 – with a 3-day residential retreat, and Zoom meetings in between the weekends – this experiential training will explore how a deeper felt-understanding of Scaravelli-inspired yoga can become a natural foundation for a consistent and fruitful meditation practice.
The majority of the course will be spent in guided practice, with talks and suggested reading woven in on subjects such as yogic and Buddhist philosophy, meditation and the nature of mind, understanding and unwinding postural patterns, and the central role of the breath in an evolving yoga practice. There’ll also be space to explore together the different aspects of ourselves we inevitably meet as we attempt to slow down and relax, and quieten the mind.
With Yoga in the West sometimes becoming detached from its meditative origins and purpose, this course is for anyone wanting a more integrated sense of body and mind – of both the physical and the meditative – in their practice, or their teaching.
The ’Touching Stillness’ course is an amazing opportunity to explore, reflect, discuss and practice together with a wonderful mix of people; its like an adventure in yoga with lots of space between meet-ups to read, practice and play with ideas. I’m loving it. Thanks Bill.
