being responsive

 

practising yoga
helps us to become stronger
and more flexible

but that process will bear even more fruit
if accompanied by a deeper unwinding from within

 

so we’re continually drawing our attention
away from how the poses might appear
and focusing instead on how they feel…..

 

and on how we can then best respond to that

 

being gentle
backing away
loosening
enlivening
then settling again

 

with every adjustment being made
not to achieve any external goal

not to get ‘further’ into the pose

but to feel more grounded
and more at ease

and to be increasingly absorbed
in the experience of that
